On a lovely weekend, a girl was outside cycling here and there when she encountered a Skelton thin dog who was in a critical situation. His bones were visible on his skin and his legs were shaky and weak. It was clear that he was infected with numerous diseases. He had a little to no hair on his body.
The girl immediately called the rescuers at once. He needed to be saved. The rescuers rushed on a phone call and were there in an hour. They inspected the dog for a while and then took him with them.
They gave the dog a lot of nutritious food and water. He ate like he hadn’t been fed for ages. He was nicknamed little tenacious by them. It was heartbreaking to see his fragile state so the rescuers decided to take him to the hospital.
The dog was tested and then the doctor says that he is too thin and in need of long term nutritional supplements. They gave him some medicines.
The dog was later diagnosed with keratitis and prescribed eye drops along with some other edible medicine. He was getting better with each passing day and it was a visible change. The rotten skin was healing back to it’s initial stage and his bones were noel less visible.
After another few days, the rescuers noticed that his eyes were swollen again. He was taken to the hospital immediately and was tested. The results showed that he had Corneal perforation and needed infusion therapy.
the other medicines continued as the therapy started on the sixth day. He was shaking badly throughout the session. Poor teddy’s eyes were filled with tears throughout the process.
They took him back for the therapy the next day. He was fragile a afraid but was getting better. Feeding him medicine was a challenge in itself. But they somehow made him take the medicines.
He was given extra nutrients in every meal. And the medicines were given regularly. On the ninth day, he was brought to the shelter after spending so many days in isolation and treatment.
After he finished eating dinner, they gave him a bath for the first time. He was very cooperative. He looked even more skinny during the bath but. After drying all the water off from his body, he was given the leg piece of chicken. He ate it passionately.
He was becoming cheerful day by day. Started going for walks, started greeting people. On the fourteenth day, they took him to the hospital to make sure he was recovering correctly. The doctor concluded thug his hair needed to grow slowly without a rush. The doctor also recommended to spray iodophor.
Luckily, the wounds were almost healed. He was injected medicines for skin infection and disease.
Back at the shelter , he was well spirited and happy. Roaming around the rescuers. He was not anxious about eating anymore. He ate like an elephant. His skin was getting thick and better at hiding his bones.
He looked more secure about his life then before. There was a relationship of friendship built between the little tenacious and the rescuers.
He was given a bath again on twentieth day. He didn’t look so skinny anymore. There was a visible betterment in physical condition. After bath, the therapeutic ointment was applied all over his body.
His hair were growing back after living in the shelter for a month. The rescuers couldn’t wait to see when he was fully healed and in better condition.
He wasn’t so picky while eating the medicine anymore. And soon it was time to pay another visit to the hospital. The test showed that keratitis was almost gone now. He was injected to relieve itching.
The rescuers started making him bath regularly. The medicines were still given to make sure the disease were gone permanently. Little tenacious was involving with fellow dogs often now.
A few more days passed and his hair were now visibly growing. The pills still continued. And he was still as picky as ever.
Apart from the way he ate, he was entirely unrecognizable. With the efforts of the rescuers, it seemed like he was reborn. He got a new life where he was loved and taken care of. It was satisfying to see how happy and healthy his life had became.
