Lynda adopted Brownie nine years ago. Brownie has been known for her outgoing personality and social buzzing for years now in all our neighborhood.
Whoever cross paths with her while walking, instantly gets a great day and upliftment of spirit. She wagges her tail at everyone in contact, nice enough to notice her. Then she follows them to their home.
Lynda, however, being an introvert person, finds trouble coping with her dog. She is always having trouble following her around to neighbours house whenever they are both out for a walk.
Brownie has a lot of friends in the town. More then Lynda in that. She has human friends, and she has dog friends. She is open to play with everyone who gives her attention. Her cheerful personality is what sets her apart from the other dogs in neighbour.
In fact, the neighbor next door has a female dog too who is known to be the best friend of Brownie. She is always hanging out with her, talking to her over the fencing.
It is like any other day when Lynda was reading books, sitting in the balcony when she noticed something strange and an idea popped up in her head.
She see the two dogs conversing in their own language over the fencing and a creative idea comes to her mind. She puts her book aside and goes into the backyard where the two dogs are discussing God knows what.
She takes her phone out and makes a call to the owner of the dog on the other side of the fencing. It takes him only a few seconds to come out and observe his dog who was separated by just a fencing to reach out to Brownie.
He looks towards Lynda and he gets what she is saying without exchanging a word. It is a language only pet owners know.
Soon enough, the carpenter is called along with a door which has only a few rods to seperate the rooms. The owners knows what their dog needs and they go to lengths to provide them with that.
Brownie needs a friend all the time and the fencing is not really helpful, so Lynda gets the fencing removed and replaced by the translucent door to separate the garden of her’s and her neighbour’s.
The process take the whole day to install it there. In the meantime, she gets involved in a conversation with the other owner and she realises that she missed out a lot of experience in her life.
The owner turns out to be a good acquaintee and they bece good friends. The dogs now have access to the other all the time. Brownie gets to meet her friend whenever she please through the translucent door and when they are together, they looks like best buddies.
They now play together all the time. Whenever Lynda gives her a treat, she rushes in the garden to share it with her friend and the other dog does that too.
Lynda finds out that her name is Bella and she is a few years younger than Brownie. Gradually the owners start taking out the dogs for walk together and the bond between the two families deepens.
A bond through dogs
The people who own dogs are always bonding with each other. They knows what challenges the other person faces while having a pet and the joy it brings to them.
They have their own community in themselves. It seems like a good thing to have a common interest and such passion towards dogs.
They have a lot of discussions about their pets and their families are acquaintees too. A dog not only bonds with it’s own owner, but it bonds with everyone around. It connects people and remind them that we are meant to live in a community together. With humanity and kindness.
