What can be worse than a man selling dogs on a bike by hanging them on the handle? An animal testing laboratory. Yes, we rescue dogs and other animals from these kind of labs and they are found in the worse shape imaginable. They are physically and mentally tortured for human benefits.
We have been rescuing animals since 2010 and we have saved over 3000 animals till now. Rose was rescued last month from one of those laboratories that we shuted down. She was the last one to be found in those dark rooms and I was the first one to hold her in my arms.
She was afraid to come to me, she thought I was one of them and I don’t blame her to think that. If I was locked in a lab from the birth and never knew what existed beyond that life, I would want to not trust anyone too.
But we needed to make her trust us. We needed to win her heart over the period of time. She was living in the shelter to make her recover from physical conditions and injuries for the time I was preparing to take her in my family.
She has been quite since then. I had a feeling when she was brought to the shelter that I was going to bond with her over time. It was just a vibe or maybe an instinct that told me to adopt her.
She was scared of literally everything and we figured that she was also pregnant at that time. She has been through a lot for these past years. I am guessing that she is eight years old now.
And it pains me to realise that she suffered for eight years straight, not getting any love, not getting any care, just being used over and over again for testing.
i just finished all the paper works and now Rose is officially a part of my family. She still looks the same as to when we rescued her. Hasn’t improved even a bit. And I think I can make her get better over time, also considering she might give birth any time now.
I take her to the car and settles her in the passenger seat while I get in the driver seat. I start the car and take her to my apartment. Her life is going to improve and I am so excited to take her in.
She keeps crawling here and there in the apartment and I assume it is because she is scared that something like that might happen again. Something scary might haunt her forever.
I don’t think she needs many toys but I am proven wdong when she gets in the toy basket and take a toy out. She throws it at a distance and then runs towards it with excitement and joy to take it back. She keeps playing with the toys and I realise what she needs.
Next day, I bring in a few toys for her to play with. I want her to be happy and that is what I am going to do now. Provide her for things she never got. Take her to places she never been to. And give her love that she never got.
I spend a few days with her and we are bonded for life. It is like we were meant to find each other in this cruel world. We play together, we go to walks together. She no longer double checks her food before eating. She leaft the habit of crawling often.
She is happy now, with me, she has flourished into something new, something so beautiful. She often wagges her tail when I am around. She has her doubts on the other though. She doesn’t go near many people, and it breaks my heart to acknowledge that she lost her trust in mankind.
Some people used her for their benefit and left her traumatized for the rest of her life. She don’t have an idea of who is friend and who is foe. Being born in that hell, she has no idea of how a heaven feels like. But now she knows that there are indeed two types of people, good and bad.
If evil exist, so does the angel. And angels always come to rescue. Soon she gave birth to six cute puppies, three girls and three boys at my house. I am taking pleasure in taking care of her and her babies and providing them a life their mother never got.
Her kids were all healthy and fit. It was pleasure to see them in such good condition, far away from where they were almost about to be. It is a relief to know that they are going to get a loved life and luxury.
Does humanity still exists?
The question is, does good people still exists? I think, like this rescuer, there are good and bad people. There are people who use innocent souls for their benefit and greed and then there are people who saves them from those evils.
We always have a choice and some people who gives in to greed are the worse kind. I won’t say they will get their karma as I don’t know if that exists or not. But one thing can be sure that if good ones outnumber those evils, the world can be a better place to live.
The world can be more bearable to those animals and full of kindness and humanity. I think that should be the priority of people nowadays as these kind of stories exists in every corner of this world.
